2025 Pastoral Transition

legacy and new seasons

Pastor John and Jan Finochio, with their three children, moved from Hamilton Ontario the first Sunday of 2000 as John accepted the invitation to serve as the Lead Pastor of Crossroads Life Church. Now in their 25th year, the Lord has used this couple, together with a many-membered team to establish a life-giving and growing family church in Mid-western ON while also travelling globally to serve the greater body of Christ.

Over the last several years it became apparent that a succession plan was needed to preserve the legacy of CLC and pass the vision to a younger generation. Over the last few years Pastor John together with his Pastor, Michael Servello Sr., who has long served as an apostolic voice to CLC , and together with the Board of Directors, developed a transition plan after a great deal of behind the scenes meetings, consultations with Lawyers, financial experts and other churches. It was decided to make it known that CLC was looking for a younger pastor who would commit to a transition period with Pastor John and applications were accepted from interested parties both inside and outside of CLC.

The process was thorough, applications came in, interviews were conducted on each applicant and submitted to Pastor John, Pastor Servello, and the board of Directors and resulted in a 5-0 decision being rendered in favour of David Keating, who had already served as the Executive Pastor of CLC for a period of 5 years. David and his lovely wife, Theresa, have been at the core of ministry and activities at CLC for several years, and we believe, prepared by the hand of the Lord to assume these responsibilities once the ‘transitional period’ is completed.

The transition officially began on October 15/2023 and will span 18 months concluding with a Legacy Weekend Celebration on April 25-27/2025. During the transitional period Pastor David is incrementally taking on more Lead Pastor responsibilities while Pastor John continues to serve as the Lead Pastor of CLC until the official transition takes place.

Pastor John will continue to serve on the Board of Directors of CLC and continue to assist in the development of the Eldership Team of CLC beyond the transition period.

To say that we are all just a little excited for all that is taking place at CLC would be an understatement! We are keeping our eyes are on Jesus, who is the Author and Finisher of our faith, and trusting as He guides us forward in faith and vision and a new season in the journey of CLC.
