About Us

Crossroads Life Church began in the town of Arthur, Ontario in 1985. John and Jan Finochio were installed as Lead Pastors in January of 2000. Since then, Crossroads has grown from a handful of people to a thriving family church embracing all ages.
Ministries have grown to include a School of Ministry, a growing Youth Ministry, Connect Groups, short-term missions, a youth summer camp, family camp, Men’s and Women’s ministries, as well as hosting a Canada Day celebration that has seen crowds well over 2000 people come annually.

We are an autonomous local church that is self-governing and self-supporting. We are in fellowship with MFI for accountability and relationship.

CLC continues in its singular focus to be a church that connects people to God and to one another. We see our role as being a place in the midst of the community that will proclaim and encourage others in the timeless values of faith, hope and love that are found in Jesus Christ and His gospel. Whether it’s in a song, a Sunday morning message, a small group discussion, on the job, at the office, at home around the dinner table or in a foreign nation half-way around the globe we are dedicated to making fully dedicated followers of Jesus who will love God and serve others.

What We Believe

There is a God. He absolutely loves you.

Inside every one of us there’s a longing to be with God. However we also wrestle with this sense of separation from God… there’s a disconnect. That disconnect is often referred to as sin – it’s the actions, the thoughts, the words that lead us away from God and to a spiritual death.

God understands all this stuff going on in the human heart and about two thousand years ago He sent His Son, Jesus to reveal what God is really like and become the payment for a debt none of us could ever repay, no matter how good or consistent we thought we could be. Many people thought God was an evil task-master – someone you could never please; or someone who was distant and didn’t really care. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Jesus arrived on the earth to make God known to all of us. He didn’t arrive as someone with power and position, He arrived in a humble stable and experienced all...Read More

Our Values

Presence God’s presence isn’t just a feeling we experience in worship or when a miracle takes place, but an abiding sense of God’s involvement in our lives and the life of our church. John 15 tells us that God is the vine and we’re the branches. The flow of His life and presence in our lives results in great fruit. The presence of God is a distinguishing mark on the life of every Christ follower, it’s about the life of God that marks our lives with faith, love, hope, peace and joy.

Reaching and Building People God never created us to do life alone. We all need and benefit from relationships. If people matter to God, they matter to us. God came and hung out with people who were far away from Him. His life and message helped us understand God. It made sense to a whole lot of people. Our desire is that each one of our lives would reflect the same value. Our hope is to help build peoples lives so they can become effective and fruitful in their faith. That includes all ages, all races, male and female, married and single … everybody!

Teaching God gave us the Bible to reveal His way. That is why Crossroads is a teaching church. Our goal is to faithfully open the scriptures and give people what they need to grow in their new life in Christ. Someone once said, “We do not change the message… the message changes us.” And I guess that kinda sums it up.

Stewardship Before we experienced God’s grace our lives were consumed with ourselves and our desires. Now as devoted followers of Christ, God desires that we are consumed with His purposes and use our time, talents and resources to generously serve Him and others.

Global The world is getting smaller and more and more we have the opportunity to reach out beyond the place we live and take God’s message to other places and cultures. This is something Jesus commanded His followers to be involved in and we see it as a privilege. Whether it is supporting a missionary, going on a short-term missions trip, sharing what you’ve experienced with a neighbour or friend, it’s all part of being an outward focused follower of Jesus.
